Port Blair, Nov. 6: Central Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair organized the “Vigilance Awareness Week” from 29th October to 3rd November 2012, wherein events / programme like taking pledge, lecture on “Determination of vigilance angle in public procurement and Office Administration”, essay and debate competition was conducted. Beside workshop on “Right to Information Act and its impact in bringing about transparency in the working of Public Institutions” was also organized which was coordinated by Dr. M. Shankaran (Sr. Scientist). Dr. S. Dam Roy, Director CARI during the valedictory function on 5th November, 2012 stressed to maintain discipline and transparency in the work by all staff members of the Institute. He also distributed certificates and prizes to the participants and winners of essay and debate competition. Earlier Dr D.R. Singh, Vigilance Officer, CARI welcome the gathering and gave an overview of vigilance programme and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. A. K. Singh, Coordinator.
