Port Blair, Dec. 12: The President, Pradesh Congress Committee Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma has advocated for ‘Minority Status’ for Minority Educational Institutions of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. In his letter to the Lt. Governor, Sharma stated that minority schools viz Carmel Senior Secondary School, Nirmala Senior Secondary School, St Mary Secondary School and St Mary Primary School, Khalsa School, Ummat Senior Secondary School, MES School etc. are running in and around Port Blair and such other minority schools are also running in inter islands.

Advocating for such schools, Sharma said that all these schools are producing meritorious students every year and getting extraordinary results in CBSE examinations. Not only this, their students are also showing outstanding performances in various competitions conducted by the A&N Administration and other institutions. He further said that in case these schools get ‘Minority Status’ as per the orders and policies framed by the Government of India, this will be a great help to the management of these schools to run their institutions more effectively and efficiently.
