Port Blair, Oct. 8: The five day In-Service training workshop for the GTTs concluded today at Car-Nicobar.  In his address the Chief Guest, the Principal of the Navodaya Vidyalaya, Arong Dr. Bangaraswamy said, that the teacher should try to transform his traditional style of teaching into the modern concept of smart class. Introduction of smart classes in schools make teaching simpler and student friendly. For this the teacher has to make himself familiar with the latest trends and technologies, used in the class room, he added. Dr. Bangaraswamy hoped that the teachers of this far-flung area would surely make full use of the training and skills they learnt in the workshop, in their class rooms.

The Education Officer of the District and the Coordinator of the Block Resource Centre Shri H. Nathaniel  said that there have been so many positive revolutionary changes in the School Education with the introduction of the Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation System. He said that the teachers should apply themselves sincerely to achieve the goals of CCE.

Expressing his concern over the decline in the values in the society, under the influence of technological advancements, Shri Nathaniel asked the teachers to impart moral values among their students, simultaneously with their subject matter. He called upon the teachers to be the role model to their students. The teachers are called the Nation builders, and the teachers have to come to the expectation level of the society, he said.

In the valedictory function the teachers demonstrated their self made innovative teaching models. More than 60 Science and Arts teacher from the different schools of the Nicobar district took part in the workshop.
