Port Blair, Nov. 7: The 52nd NDC comprising seventeen course members of the Indian Armed Forces, friendly foreign countries and civil services from the National Defence College, New Delhi are on a visit to Andaman & Nicobar Islands from 6th Nov to 9th Nov 12 as part of their Forward Area Tour (FAT).  

During the visit course officers interacted with Air Marshal PK Roy, AVSM, VM, VSM, CINCAN HQ ANC.     The officers will call on the Honorable Lieutenant Governor on 8th Nov 12. The course officers were briefed on all aspect of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands by the Chief of Staff. In visits to Military components they were briefed on the critical sensitivities of the Islands and plans for development. The environmental and ecological sensitivities of the Islands was at the core of their briefings such that future military leadership remains sensitive to the security vs development is preservation balance that is essential.

The group visited places of interest in Port Blair including Cellular Jail where they witnessed the Light and Sound Show, National Museum and Ross Island. The delegation will lay a wreath at the Tsunami Memorial, Car Nicobar on 8th Nov 12 and depart Port Blair on 9th Nov 12.
