Port Blair, April 28: The General Body meeting of the Staff Car Drivers’ Sub-Committee of the Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association was held on 27th April 2013 at Port Blair. The meeting was presided over by Shri Harbhajan Singh. Shri Abdul Manaf presented the report on the functioning of the Sub-Committee.
Addressing the meeting, Shri D. Ayyappan, General Secretary of the Association explained in detail the various issues relating to the government employees in general and those relating to the Staff Car Drivers in particular which are pending with the Govt. of India. He referred to the issue of not revising the overtime allowance rate which was fixed while implementing the Fourth Central Pay Commission recommendations during 1986. The meeting adopted resolutions on a number of demands/issues.
The General Body meeting elected Shri Abdul Manaf as Vice President, Shri C. Gunasekharan as Secretary and Shri T. Zubair as Treasurer besides Executive Committee Members. Shri TS Sreekumar, Asst. General Secretary and Shri Anand Raj, Secretary, Secretariat Sub-Committee of the Association also addressed the meeting.
