Port Blair, Dec. 9: Answering to the Unstarred Question No. 1153 regarding upgradation of pay scale (under VI Central Pay Commission) of Assistant Conservator of Forest and Forest Rangers in Forest Department in A&N Islands which has been lying pending with the Government raised by Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, MP; Shri Namo Naraayana Meena, Minister of State for Finance (E&FS) stated in the floor of the house on 30^th Nov. 2012 that “As per records available with the Ministry of Environment and Forest, the matter related to upgradation of pay scale (under VIth CPC) of Assistant Conservator of Forests and Forest Ranger in the Forest Department of Andaman & Nicobar Islands was received in the Ministry on 22^nd Oct. 2010.

“The Ministry of Environment & Forest has constituted a Departmental Anomaly Committee on advice of the Ministry of Finance. The report of the Departmental Anomaly Committee is being examined in the Ministry of Environment & Forest. Decision is to be taken on the subject by the Ministry of Environment & Forest in consultation with the Ministry of Finance”.
