Port Blair, Nov. 16: After having taken over as CINCAN, Air Marshal PK Roy AVSM VM VSM visited 37 Wing, Air Force Station Carnic on 15 Nov 12. The CINCAN, on arrival was briefed by the Station Commander and other Section Commanders on their respective roles and activities being undertaken. To improve connectivity and communication within the base, a mini BSNL exchange was inaugurated by the CINCAN which would go a long way in enhancing the operational efficiency of the station.

A cultural programme and community dinner was organised in the evening, wherein Air Marshal PK Roy was seen actively interacting with the Air Warriors and civilians of the Station. The Senior Officers also visited the famous Chukchuka hut and met the local Nicobaris who enthusiastically informed him about the significance and ethnic semblance of the hut. CINCAN also laid wreath at the Tsunami Memorial.  

Addressing the Officers and Air Warriors, CINCAN applauded one and all for the yeoman service that they are doing and that they should be proud of serving at such a strategically located base.  He emphasized on the need to consolidate and be operationally ready for any task at all times.  Air Marshal added that he was aware of the hardships and poor connectivity to mainland due remote location of the Station and assured an all out support from Headquarters ANC, including Chartering of Air India flights.

The Air Marshal was appreciative of the cohesiveness in the Station and urged everyone to continue the good job. Finally, the CINCAN exhorted all to live up to motto of Andaman and Nicobar Command ie “Victory through Jointness”.
