Port Blair, Oct. 18: The Police Entertainment Team (PET) has grown considerably in the last two years. The PET under Dy.SP Shaukat Hussain presently consists of thirty members drawn from the India Reserve Battalion, local Police, Police Radio, Fire Brigade etc. On repeated requests received by the DGP, the team had been deputed to entertain the largely rural population of North and Middle Andaman by organizing free shows for the general public. In spite of the rainy conditions the PET manage to draw large crowds at the various location and dates: -

30.9.2012: Diglipur -2000 approx. (indoors due to rain), 1.10.2012: Kalighat-2000 approx, 3.10.2012: Mayabunder-  4000 approx, 4.10.2012: Billiground        - 4000 approx, 5.10.2012: Bakultala -4000 approx, 6.10.2012:                Rangat - 6000 approx, 8.10.2012:                Kadamtala -4000 approx and 10.10.2012 - Baratang - 4000 approx.

More than thirty thousand members of the public had witnessed the show and messages of appreciation were received from PRI’s, Pradhan and other prominent citizens.

A special show will shortly be organized at the Netaji Stadium, Port Blair to celebrate the 150th year of the Indian Police. All members of the public have been invited to attend the function. There shall be no admission charges for the public, a communication said here.
