Police, Katchal and Little Andaman win their matches, young teams efforts appreciated

Car Nicobar, Oct. 31: In the Vice President of India Cup Soccer Championship, being played here at Car Nicobar, the teams of Andaman Nicobar Police, Katchal and Little Andaman today won their respective matches. The first match played between Nancowry and Air force ended in a draw.

In today’s matches some less reputed teams showed their mettle, against the stronger teams. Especially the match between Police and Rangat teams was enjoyed by every one sitting in the Bishop John Richardson Stadium. Spectators were expecting a huge victory by the Police before the start of play, but as the match began the boys of Rangat displayed their exceptional skills and one was surprised to see the talents these boys have. In the end the so called stronger team of police could manage to score two goals.

The match between Katchal and Port Blair was a disappointing one for the Port Blair fans, who expected a good fight from their side. Katchal won the match by 4 goals comfortably, and the Port Blair team never looked threatening.

In another match Little Andaman defeated Education XI by 2-1. In this match also the less experienced young boys of Education XI fought well and their effort was appreciated by the crowd for their exemplary play.
