Wimberlygunj, Nancowry and Katchal Register Their 2nd Consecutive Wins

Car Nicobar, Nov. 1: Wimberlygunj team’s excellent form continued today also, as the boys demolished the team of Campbell bay by 5-0, in the day’s first match played here at Bishop John Richardson Stadium Car Nicobar. This is WG’s second consecutive victory. Shamshuddin scored 3 goals, and he is one of the leading scorers of the tournament. The WG team has emerged as one of the  favourites, after defeating the defending Champion Territorial Army by 2-1 in its first match. Showing their outstanding play today, the boys gave clear indication that they are one of the strongest contenders for this Prestigious Trophy.

In the Second match Nancowry defeated Mayabunder by 4-1. Deepak scored two goals for the winners. The Mayabunder team seems talented but they are inexperienced. The young boys are gaining experience from every match they are playing with their senior counterparts.

Katchal team registered their second consecutive victory by 6-3 over diglipur,in the day’s third match .The leading scorer of the tournament Jaspal Paul once again showed the magic of his kicks and scored 4 goals. But the efforts of the Diglipur team were appreciated by the crowd, the way the boys fought against the experienced opponent.

But the day’s last encounter between the Education XI and the Sports Authority of India, was the most excited one. The match was won by the Education XI by 4-0. The Football fans got the opportunity to witness some high class footbaling skills of the young boys of Education XI. Showing excellent coordination, the players dominated the entire game. They succeeded in converting their calculated passes into goals.
