Zonal Science, Art and Craft Exhibition begins at Car Nicobar

Students display their interest, aptitude and sensitivity towards Life effectively

                 

Car Nicobar, Nov. 15: The Zonal Science, Art and Craft Exhibition began at Car Nicobar on 14th Nov. 2012. The Deputy Commissioner Shri P. Jawahar inaugurated the two-day Exhibition, in the Education Office Complex.

Soon after the inauguration, the Chief Guest visited the exhibits and was impressed to see the Science models made by the students of Lapathy School, with the limited available resources. He appreciated the efforts of the teachers for guiding the students in the preparation of the models. 

The model of the hydro electric Power generation drew the attention of the visitors. The concept was nicely executed by the students under the supervision of Shri Maliyadri, the Physics Senior teacher of the School. The models of Tsunami Alert System and Seismographic sensors seem to have larger scope of applicability in real life, the visitors felt. Shri P. Jawahar also praised the students for putting up some interesting Mathematical projects.

The Psychological activity based model presented by Master Kartik, a student of class VII of Govt. Senior Secondary School Malacca was applauded by everyone. The samples of the Ayurvedic Medicines prepared, by using the locally available herbs, were also displayed. These samples prepared by Ms Alice have already been approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research.

Few models, depicting the Social and cultural life of the Nicobari community are also kept in the stall of the Malacca School. This shows their sensitivity towards life. The Chief Guest congratulated the students for displaying such wonderful models.

Inside the stall of Govt. S.S. Mus, the visitors enjoyed, watching the models of Science. The complexities of Mathematical concepts are presented in a very simpler form, which is very interesting. The Art and handicraft works of the Sawai, Arong and GMPS are close to perfection, and the visitors never forget to buy these classical samples. There was big crowd on the inaugural day at the food stalls of Malacca and GMPS Schools.

Apart from Lapathy, Malacca, Mus, Arong and Sawai the students of Kinmai, Tapoming, Kinyuka, Jayanthi, Kimious, GMPS (HQ) also displayed their models and beautiful handicraft items. Large number of Parents and guardians of the students turned up today to see the creative works of their children.

The Exhibition will remain open tomorrow for the general Public from 10 am to 7 pm. The best models will represent the Zone in the forth coming State Science Exhibition at Port Blair.
