Port Blair, Dec. 28: It was the day, dominated by the mighty teams of Odhisha and Punjab, in the ongoing National School Football Championship being conducted at Port Blair. The football lovers witnessed another highest scoring match, when the stronger Odhisha team shattered the dreams of CBSE team by defeating it by 15 goals at Netaji Stadium today.

It was all through one sided match, and the Odhisha boys had the total control on the ball. Subasa Pradhan scored 6 goals alone for his team. With this defeat the CBSE team made exit from the 58TH SGFI National Championship. In its first league match too the CBSE team was defeated by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan team by 14 goals yesterday.

In a very interesting match played at the FIFA Ground in JNRM Campus, the Punjab team won its match against Indian Public School Conference by 4 goals. The winners demonstrated some classic skills of high class football. The boys looked very strong in their defence and at the same time their strikers didn’t miss the opportunity of scoring goals.

Though the IPSC did show some fight, but they seemed inexperienced of playing the major tournaments. Captain Vikramjeet Singh of Punjab scored 2 goals and gave the impression that Punjab is also a force to reckon with.

Among other matches played today, Uttar Pradesh defeated Lakshdweep by a solitary goal, and the Rajasthan team won its match against Chattisgarh by 1-0.

Tomorrow five matches will be played.
