Port Blair, Dec. 9: Christmas cum New Year’s Carnival 2012 was celebrated by the Mahatma Gandhi International School Brookshabad on 8th of December wherein Shri Aanand Mohan IGP (Law and Order) was the Chief Guest while Shri. R. Dev Das and Shri. Ranjith Asst Director Sports were the special guests.
Shri Anand Mohan in his address on the occasion appreciated the staff and Principal and students for putting such an extra ordinary cultural events and stalls. He said, by seeing all this he remembered his school life.
Shri. Dev Das appreciating the efforts said, according to CBSE we have to think about overall development of the child and MGIS is succeeding in doing this, by exploring the students’ inner talent by conducting such a wonderful carnival.
The carnival had colourful stalls exhibiting working and static models from the realms of science, environment and ecology. Greeting cards, paintings and handicraft made by the students of MGIS were exhibited and were eagerly bought by the public. The 20 games stalls catered to the entertainment need of the public while the food court with yummy delicacies was a very big draw among the visitors.
The students of MGIS had also staged cultural programme, which held the audience enthralled. Adhering to public demand the performance of the tiny tots had to be repeated.
A lucky draw was also held in which the first Prize (Bike) was won by Mrs. Friska (coupon number 4777), the second Prize was won by bearer of (coupon number 4495) a laptop and the third prize won by coupon number 0499.
