No Scheme to Provide Liveries or Cash Reimbursement to Employees of Electricity Deptt.: Minister

Port Blair, Dec. 23: There is at present no scheme available for providing liveries or cash reimbursement in the Electricity Department for eligible employees, stated the Minister of State (Independent Charge) Shri J. Yotiraditya M. Scindia while replying to a question raised by the Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray at the floor of the Parliament.

The Member of Parliament vide his Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 2118 had desired from the Minister of Power, whether the Electricity Department of A&N Islands makes cash reimbursement for the cost of uniform, rain coat etc. at par with the Education Department, which makes cash reimbursement against the supply of uniforms to the students.

Answering to the question the Minister of State, Shri Scindia stated, “No Madam, based on information furnished by the Electricity Department of A&N Administration, it is stated that earlier, the department provides liveries containing uniform and rain coats in kind to the eligible employees and not cash reimbursement.

‘There is at present no scheme available for providing liveries or cash reimbursement in the Electricity Department for eligible employees’.
