Port Blair, Dec. 5: In a letter to the Administrator, Sharma stated of the pathetic condition of the youth of Campbell Bay. After Tsunami of 2004 the lands of the farmers have submerged, animals, houses, shops, machineries etc have been washed away and the youths feel hapless and are jobless now. Sharma thus requested the Lt Governor to consider promoting the islands as a tourist destination for foreigners also as a special case.

Sharma added that the island is the treasure of natural beauty having virgin beaches, two famous National parks, and creeks etc., which foreign tourists like the most. He hoped that if the Administrator considers the suggestion and bring the island in the world tourism map, the youths of Campbell bay can devote their time and energy by engaging themselves in various sorts of tourism activities to earn their livelihood and secure their future.
