Port Blair, Sept. 9: ‘MUKTADHARA’, an Academy of Dance, Drama & Music of these Islands organised its Annual Function in collaboration with the Kala Kendra (a Society under the aegis of Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration) on 07th September 2018.  The programme was graced by Shri Udit Prakash Rai, I.A.S., Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District as the Chief Guest.

One and half hour’s duration Annual Function was clad with variety of cultural events namely, Rhythmic Yoga Dance, vocal presentation of Chhota Khayal, Dadra, Tarana, Ghazal etc. Ventriloquism (Talking Doll), Semi Classical, Dance Recital ‘Makhan Chori’ and ‘Beti Bachao’, Magic Show etc. Vocal presentation of Khayal by Kumari Brishty Roy was immensely applauded by the audience of the programme. 

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Udit Prakash Rai, Deputy Commissioner (SA) and Smt. Neha Bansal, Secretary (Art & Culture) praised the endeavour of Mukta Dhara for presenting such a beautifully arranged cultural evening for Port Blairians. Earlier, Smt. Rashida Iqbal, Assistant Director (Art & Culture) welcomed the gathering. 

The entire programme was managed by Smt. Chapala Talukdar; coordinated by Shri Rizwan, an eminent young Anchor; and directed by Miss Priyanka Talukdar, a multitalented artist of this archipelago.  In this programme, Miss Ashwini was conferred with “Mukta Dhara’s Best Student Award-2018”.

On this occasion, Shri Birendra Kishore Talukdar, Secretary, Mukta Dhara handed over a cheque to the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman District – the Chief Guest, amounting to Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand Only) towards donation to Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. 

The programme concluded with vote of thanks proposed on behalf of Mukta Dhara by Shri Rizwan.
