Port Blair, Sept. 12: Upon the request of Vishal Jolly, Member of Home Minister Advisory Committee & State President BJP, A&N Islands, a meeting was called by Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, to review the current projects on National Highways and Bridges in A&N Islands at his residence, New Delhi on 11.09.2018.

Alongwith Vishal Jolly, Yudhvir Singh Malik, Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Chetan B. Shanghi, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Nagendra Nath Sinha, Managing Director, NHIDCL, Vaibhav Dange, PS to Minister and Vinay Kumar Singh, Technical Executive Director, NHIDCL attended the meeting.

During the meeting Jolly thanked the Minister for the efforts taken to complete the Kadamtala Bridge work with quality and time bound. He stated that, the Minister has accepted to construction the Bambooflat-Chatham Bridge to solve the long pending issue. This announcement made the school/college students, Govt./Private Employees, Businessmen and general public of Bambooflat and adjacent area very happy but the work is getting delay due to some problem. 

The Minister assured that a speedy action will be taken on Bambooflat-Chatham Bridge work. Jolly further urged the Minister for speeding up process of the Middle Strait-Baratang Bridge and also demanded for immediate repair/ construction of National Highway Road between Port Blair to Diglipur and throughout the A&N Islands.
