Port Blair, Sept. 14: Union Minister for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Environment and Forests and Climate Change, Dr Harsh Vardhan will dedicate the “Atal Centre for Ocean Science and Technology for Islands” (ACOSTI) to the nation tomorrow in an inaugural ceremony at Dollygunj, Port Blair. ACOSTI is a field centre of the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India. 

The inauguration programme will be presided over by the Lt. Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Admiral D. K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.). Shri. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament A&N Islands, Dr. M. Rajeevan, Secretary Ministry of Earth Sciences, Shri Chetan B. Sanghi, Chief Secretary A&N Administration, Dr. Vipin Chandra, Joint Secretary (Administration) Ministry of Earth Sciences and Dr. M.A. Atmanand, Director NIOT will also participate in the inauguration ceremony.
