Port Blair, Sept. 23: RAP regime under which foreign tourists had to obtain necessary permits from the competent authority has been relaxed in the ANI from 29.06.2018. Consequent to this, foreign tourists do not require RAP to visit listed 29 islands in the UT. In continuation to the above relaxation, now Govt of India has approved to waive the mandatory registration process of foreign tourists with the Foreigners Registration Officer (FRO) within 24 hours of their arrival. The foreign tourists would have faced hardship due to this mandatory registration process. The removal of this condition will further ease the visit of foreign tourists in these Islands. Existing Form C, through which hotel keepers submit the details of foreigners staying in their hotel to the FRO, will continue.

In addition, now Viper Island has also been approved to be included in the list of islands to be opened for the day visit. This was a long due demand of the islanders and tourists.

The above action just before the beginning of tourist season is expected to provide boost to the foreigners visiting these Islands.
