Port Blair, Nov. 12: The Port Blair Municipal Council organized a special cleanliness drive on dated 12th Nov, 2018 at ward No. 09 & 14 alongwith local youth and fishermen association. The main objective of the cleanliness drive was to clear and restore the overflow culvert being chocked at Sea Shore Road, Dairy Farm, Ward No. 09 during the heavy rain.

The Secretary, PBMC along with Sanitary Officer, PBMC Engineers, Sanitary Inspectors, Supervisors, Sanitary Workers and local youth actively participated to clean the area extending from starting point of Fishermen colony, Dairy Farm to Tirupathi Temple. The root cause of the drain chocking was open littering and garden waste being dumped into the drain.

PBMC once again requests Port Blair Citizens kindly refrain from open littering and throwing of garbage into the drains.
