Port Blair, Dec. 18:  On receipt of continuous phone calls and joint representations from the individuals who are not listed in the select list for appointment of PSTs, despite having the merit position as alleged by the them, the Member of Parliament, Bishnu Pada Ray immediately took up the matter with the Secretary Education in written besides discussion over phone seeking for review of the issue of the select list and appointments of PSTs in Education. Smti Rupa Ray wife of Shri Bishnu Pada Ray had also met with the Director Education and appraised him about the displeasures of candidates over the select list of PSTs.

After having discussed with the Secretary & Director Education, it has been assured that the department will re- examine the entire issue in reference to the representations received from the individual and from the M.P. If any errors appeared, the same will be rectified immediately and communicated to the individual concerned.

Meanwhile the Department of Education today clarified that it had published the results of the Direct Recruitment process for 224 posts of Primary School Teacher and 43 posts of Craft Instructor.

The results have been published on the Notice Board of the Directorate as well as in the departmental website.

“The process of recruitment has been conducted in a free, fair, transparent and objective manner. However, inspite of that if any candidate wishes to submit any representations with regards to the selection process, he or she may lodge his or her grievances or representations with Deputy Director Education (Academics)/Head of Office of Directorate of Education, Port Blair”, said a communication from the Directorate.
