It is hereby informed to the general public that 9th National Voters’ Day is being celebrated in a befitting manner at UT HQ, Districts, Tehsils & Booth Level throughout Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 25th January 2019 (Friday) along with other parts of the country with the theme of “NO VOTER TO BE LEFT BEHIND” in view of the upcoming General Elections to Lok Sabha- 2019 with the aim of maximizing enrolment and building awareness in the run up to such election in this UT.  With the theme, the activities shall also be taken out to target all segments of society including women, youths, persons with disabilities (PwDs), senior citizens, service voters, Overseas Indians besides other marginalised sections of the society.

Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELCs) shall also steer the NVD celebrations in Education Instruction.  Chunav Pathshala at polling stations shall act as the hub for pre-NVD activates and shall be roped in for the NVD functions at the PS level.

SSR – 2019, 9th NVD, and Tableau Presentation on Republic Day parade and carry out the SVEEP activities are major highlights to promote greater participation of people in the democratic process. Achievement of 100% error free enrolment and having EPIC by all voters is a must so as to conduct the Lok Sabha Election in a free and fair manner.

In order to ensure hassle free assistance with regard to electoral activities by general public a Toll Free No. 1950 has been setup at State Contact Centre & District Contact Centre as well, which will function in all days from 9 AM to 9 PM. The voters can also search their particulars through online by log on to ECI’s website www.nvsp.in & http://ceoan.and.nic.in.

I, therefore, appeal to all the eligible voters especially the youths in the age group of 18-19 years and PwDs to take active part in the 9th NVD generously being organised in this UT to make success of the function and to fulfil the theme of Commission “No Voter to be left behind”. I also request all political parties and Press Medias to extend their full support and cooperation in this regard.
