Projects Estimated to Rs.650 Crores to Generate Employment Opportunities to Domestic Youth

 

Port Blair, Jan 22: A Pre-Application Conference was held on 21.01.2019 at Megapode Resort, Port Blair which was attended by potential investors. The conference was chaired by the Managing Director, ANIIDCO.

On the occasion the General Manager (Projects), ANIIDCO made a presentation on the development of eco tourism projects. The Pre-Application Conference was then followed by question and answer session from potential investors. The Conference was also attended by Secretary (Law), other officers of A&N Administration, officers of NITI Aayog, Invest India, IPE Global, technical consultant and Ernst & Young, transaction advisor for the project.

Potential investors raised queries about the project including issues like CRZ clearance, finalization of model concession agreement, etc. A site visit to Long, Aves and Smith Island was also arranged on 22.01.2019 for the potential investors and representatives of NITI Aayog, Invest India, IPE Global and Ernst & Young. The potential investors have been asked to submit their queries in writing by 25.01.2019 and the replies to the queries will be hosted on the website www.and.nic.in and http://aniidco.and.nic.in by 06.02.2019. The last date for submission of the RFQ is 22.02.2019.  

Based on the in – principle approval of the Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee (PPPAC) and Standing Finance Committee (SFC), Govt. of India, Request for Qualification (RFQ) for development of eco tourism projects on PPP mode at Long, Aves and Smith Island were invited. These projects are expected to generate employment opportunity to domestic youth with an estimated investment of Rs. 650 crores. 

The officers & representatives of NITI Aayog, Invest India, IPE Global and Ernst & Young later called on and briefed Chief Secretary/Chairman, ANIIDCO regarding Pre-Application Conference.
