Port Blair, Feb 17: The works for rehabilitation/up-gradation of two stretches (Package-V & VI) of National Highways (NH-4) were pending to award. The issue has been pursued by Shri Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways to award the works urgently to the eligible selected bidders to complete the tasks of up-gradation of pending two stretches of National Highways prior to monsoon.

In pursuant to that the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL), Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRT&H) has expedite the issue and the pending works of the two stretches of road (Package-V & VI)  of  National Highways have been awarded to a lowest bidder.

The stretch of road of National Highways (Package-V) from 00 Km to 12.00 Km (Chiddiatapu to Beodnabad) for total length of 14.20 Km at a total cost of Rs: 22.59 Crores and another stretch of road of National Highways (Package-VI) from 45.00 Km to 59.20 Km for total length of 14.10 Kms at a total cost of Rs: 37.66 crores have been awarded to M/s Mohan Mutha Export Pvt. Ltd, Chennai 0n 11.02.2019 and accordingly, the “Letter of Award” has been  issued on 14.02.2019.

The contract agreement for the above purpose is to be executed within fifteen days from the date of award of works. As soon as the “Contract Agreement” is executed between NHIDCL and Firm, the work for up-gradation/rehabilitation of these two roads of National Highways package –V and VI will start immediately. 

On getting a positive response, the MP Bishnu Pada Ray has expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for expediting the issue and to award the works.
