Port Blair, Feb 19: TheBharat Nirman Foundation Delhi has honoured Dr. Poonam Arora with “Women entrepreneur of the Year Award” for her dedication in hospitality Industry and her contribution in Skill Development of women in remote areas. The Award ceremony was held on 17th Feb. 2019 at India International Centre, New Delhi.
As the Chairperson of A&N State Social Welfare Board, Dr. Poonam Arora has been visiting all the Islands of North, Middle & South Andaman creating awareness and organising various Skill development programmes. She has also done many financial inclusion programmes for school dropouts, homemakers and SHG. Dr Arora is of the opinion that women can be empowered with an extra skill to earn their livelihood and financial security. This is the biggest support to women. Thus a secure, independent women will help create a NEW ANDAMAN.
