Port Blair, March 22: Central Integrated Pest Management Centre (CIPMC), Port Blair organized Field Day Ceremony on Rabi Vegetable Crop for the year 2018-19 under Farmers’ Field School (FFS) at Colinpur Community Hall, Colinpur recently. The event was part of Integrated Pest Management Training-Cum-Demonstration Programme for farmers.

Shri Harish Chandra, JD(E) & Dr C.S.Patani, Asisstant Director(Plant Pathology), Headquarter Faridabad were present as Auditor Officer to review the programme and Smt. Sangeeta Mondal Agriculture Farm Assistant (AFA) State Agriculture Department Colinpur also  participated in it and extended facilities for the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Plant Protection Officer (Plant Pathology) CIPMC, Port Blair welcomed all the  farmers with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Mantra and shared his  experience during the FFS with farmers He highlighted the significance of Agro Ecosystem Analysis (AESA) approach in Rabi Vegetable crops  with special reference to Insect Pests vis. a vis Defenders role in Crop Ecosystem. 

Shri V.K. Gupta, Assistant Plant Protection Officer (Plant Pathology)-cum-Programme Co-ordinator, CIPMC, Port Blair evaluated the course curriculum for trainees and also collected feedback during the programme. He also proposed the vote of thanks. CIPMC operates under Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
