Port Blair, April 11: On 10th April 2019 in the picket checking near APWD Inspection Bunglow Baratang, the picketing duty staff D. Bhattacharya and Om Prakash Kushua informed SI Devanand Pathak, SHO PS Baratang that a person was found with huge cash in his pockets. On this, the SHO reached the spot and found that the cash in the possession of the person, which was counted as Rs. 82,800/-. Being in excess to the limit of Rs. 50,000/- as fixed by Election Commission, he was questioned but the person could not produce any document regarding the same and failed to answer proper intended destination. Upon this he was brought to the Police Station Baratang and the cash amount of Rs. 82,800/- was taken into Police custody under the cover of seizure memo and the information about the seizure has been given to the Returning Officer. The whole operation was commanded by SI DevanandPathak, SHO PS Baratang under the supervision of Shri R.K. Sharma, DANIPS, SDPO, Rangat.
