Port Blair, April 15: TheAndaman Avians Club conducted ‘Hello Birding: Chapter 2’ - a Bird Watching workshop for school students in South Andaman. The two day workshop was conducted on 13th and 14th of April.  The workshop focused on introducing the school students to bird watching hobby and to develop the concern towards the nature.

On Day 1 of the workshop, students were introduced to the Bird of Andaman, Bird Watching Techniques, Bird Identification techniques and use of binoculars at Mini zoo Auditorium, Haddo. Post lunch, students were taken to Sippighat for wetland birding wherein they saw Andaman Teal, Kingfishers and White Bellied Sae Eagles Etc.

On Day 2, students were taken to Chidiyatapu Biological Park for bird watching and understanding of various birds’ habitat. During the 2nd Day field trip, they also witnessed around 30 different bird species including the Endemic Andaman Dark Serpent Eagle, Andaman Green Pigean. The workshop concluded by certificate distribution to the participants by the President of the club Mr. Ram Vikas.
