Port Blair, May 20: The Zonal Anthropological Museum, Anthropological Survey of India, on 18th May 2019, Saturday celebrated the International  Museum's Day and organised an educational workshop for tiny minds of different Orphange homes of South Andaman.

With support of Directorate of Social Welfare, Andaman and Nicobar Administration inmates of 6 Orphange homes visited the Zonal Anthropological Museum to give meaning to our past. They made it eventful with their creative Art and Poster exhibition along with other educational activities.

The program was inaugurated by lighting of lamp in the presence of Shri. Shailendra Kumar Singh, Director, Directorate of  Social Welfare, Dr. Nilanjan Khatua, Head of Office, Anthropological Survey of India, Ms. Banita Behera, Officer in Charge, Zonal Anthropological Museum and Organiser of the Program at the auditorium of AnSI.

Approximately 70 Orphan children participated in the education program and displayed their creativity with poster making on the auspicious occasion of International Museum Day. 

We built a solid path with their creations upon which we can build our future. Meaningfully, while preserving the core missions of museums, ZAM have realised that they can be agents of change to a better one.
