Port Blair, May 21: Solar panel & Bulbs (each consisting of 3 Nos bulbs) were distributed by the Rotary Club of Port Blair to eighteen families of Bangoan (Bornial) village in Middle Andaman on 18th May, 2019. Rtn. Rajesh Anand President Rotary Club gave away the solar lamps & bulbs at Panchayat Hall of Bakultala in presence of Shri.Anil Bepari, Up-adyaskha, Middle Andaman and demonstrated to the villagers as how to connect the panel for charging etc .
It has a back up of more than 8 hours and can even charge a mobile, easy to carry and can be connected to three rooms at a time and has high & low control switch. Rtn. Amar Gupta, Treasurer of the club was also present. Past President of the club Dr. Dinesh gave solar lamp to Shri. Nishikanto Mondal who is also the recipient of Hon’ble Lt. Governor’s Commendation certificate for his concern for the people in that remote village.
The settlement of Bangoan village dates back to the year 1952. Pradhan Shrimati Bepari thanked the club for the concern for the people of remote area and said earlier also club had sponsored in 2014 when Dr.Dinesh was the President of the Rotary club.
