SP (SA) Briefs Police Personnel On Counting Day Arrangements

 

Port Blair, May 21: The counting of votes for General Elections 2019 is scheduled to be held on 23rd May 2019 at JNRM College. South Andaman police is leaving no stone unturned to ensure foolproof arrangements for the Counting Day. In order to ensure peaceful conduct of the counting process more than 600 Police personnel have been deployed in 3 tiered security arrangements around the counting centre. Also, multiple mobile patrolling teams have also been formed for regular area patrolling on the counting day.

On 20/05/2019 at 1200 hours, a briefing was organized at Drill Hall Police Lines for all ranks of police personnel including CRFP, IRBn and local police regarding arrangements to be made on 23/05/2019 at JNRM for the counting of votes.

The Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District, Shri. Deepak Yadav, IPS along with SDPO South Andaman, Shri. Nishant Gupta, DySP Traffic/Security, Shri. Ajay Rai, SDPO Bambooflat Shri. Manoj Kumar Meena and SDM South Andaman, Shri. Mukesh Rajora detailed the staff about their duties, protocols of searching-frisking, placement of barricades and various access control measures. Staff was directed to be polite but firm in discharge of their duties and take strict legal action against the violators of law. 

The general public is advised not to take the Marina Park road from Girls School Junction till Sinclairs Hotel to avoid inconvenience as no vehicular movement will be allowed in the area bound by Sinclairs Hotel, Machhi Line junction & Girls School Junction.
