Port Blair, June 21: To commemorate the 5th International Yoga Day, Indian Coast Guard conducted mass Yoga session all over Isles including units under command. The mass yoga sessions were in-line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi towards spreading the importance of Yoga globally for both physical and mental wellbeing of the individuals.

This headquarters at Port Blair celebrated the Yoga Day at Coast Guard Indoor Sports Complex on 21 Jun 19 wherein more than 200 CG personnel and families including children, actively participated in the session with great enthusiasm and eagerness. 

Yoga instructors Shri Shib Shankar Biswas and Smt Nazra Begum from Shib Shankar Biswas Rajya Prabhari (BST), Patanjali Yog Parivar, Andaman & Nicobar conducted Yoga session and have enlightened the gathering on the benefits of yoga and its healing power against life style and stress related diseases. They emphasised on regular practice of Yoga to achieve a sound mental, physical and intellectual health and to experience the sense of completeness within ones’ self. During yoga sessions various “MUDRAS”, “ASANAS” and “SURYA NAMASKAR” were practiced.
