Car Nicobar, July 12: The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Tribal Project, Car Nicobar observed the International Drug abuse & illicit trafficking with a programme at GSS Kakana, Car Nicobar on July 8. About 57 students, along with representatives from Health Dept, Police Dept, School teachers participated in the Programme.

The Child Development Project Officer, ICDS (TP), Car Nicobar Smti. Zarina Bibi welcomed the gathering and briefed on drug abuse & illicit trafficking. A pledge was also taken by the students and all the participants on the occasion.

The Psychiatrist, Social Worker from BJR, Hospital, Car Nicobar, Shri Surajit Roy spoke about the ill effects of drug abuse & consumption of liquor. 

The In-charge of GSS School spoke in Nicobarese language about the topic to create awareness amongst the students. A similar programme was also conducted in GSS Arong Village Car Nicobar, where about 97 students participated in the programme.
