Port Blair, Sept. 18: On 17/09/2019, a written complaint was received at PS Aberdeen from Shri S. Subramanian, owner of Sri Rajeshwari Jewelry Aberdeen Bazaar regarding theft of gold ornaments from his shop by two ladies who entered in his shop as customers.

Upon this, a case was registered at PS Aberdeen under the relevant sections of IPC and immediately a special team led by SI Jeevan, HC/811 Sunil Singh, PC/2622 Suresh, PC/1624 Vinod Linya and LPC/2772 Nandita Mistry was constituted to collect intelligence and to gather information with respect to the identity/whereabouts of the accused persons. The team gathered information about the accused persons, subsequently two ladies were identified. On which the team apprehended them on 18/09/2019 and interrogated the ladies namely Malti Hazra, W/o Shri Mukti Dahal (29) yrs, R/o Dollygunj and Mrs. Madhavi Das, W/o Ajay Kr. Das (32) yrs, R/o Chouldhari. During interrogation they confessed their guilt and the entire stolen properties were recovered from their possessions.

The instant theft case was solved due to diligent effort made by South Andaman Police which led to 100% recovery within hours. 

The entire operation took place in the direction of Inspector Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen under the supervision of Ms. Sandhya Swamy, IPS, SDPO, South Andaman and under the overall direction and supervision of Shri Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 112, 03192-232100 & 03192-233077. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
