Port Blair, Jan 16: South Andaman Police has exposed a racket of drug peddlers and arrested 04 of them in 02 cases of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 while affecting a seizure of 14.250 Kg of illicit Ganja.

On 14.01.2020, on receipt of credible information, the Special Squad under the guidance of SHO Aberdeen, Insp. Sanjay Kumar comprising SI M. Abdul Rasheed, ASI Suriya Narayan, HCs Muthu Kumar, Jyothi Minj, PCs Santosh Kumar and Bipul Halder conducted raid on two suspicious persons including one lady namely K. Hansha, D/o Shri K. Hanifa (19) yrs, R/o Tapu Basti, Bambooflat and A.L Yasin Yousuf S/o Mohd. Yousuf (29) yrs, Driver of Goenka’s Showroom, Junglighat, R/o Lamba Line and recovered a huge quantity of 10.100 Kgs of Ganja.

Earlier on 09.01.2020 under the leadership of Inspr. Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen, the Special NDPS team comprising ASI Sanjay Yadav, PCs Ashish Mallick, S. Nanak Singh, M. Raja Rao and HG K. Nageshwar Rao conducted raid on two suspicious person namely Jishu Majumder S/o Palash Majumder, 23 years, R/o Rujar Nath Lakshmipur, Nadia, West Bengal and Ayub Khan S/o Late Gulzaman Khan, 45 years R/o Thiruvanchikulam (RV), North & Middle Andaman and recovered a total of 4.150 KGs of Ganja. 

The entire operations took place under SDPO (SA) Smti. Sandhya Swamy, IPS under the overall direction and supervision of Shri. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 03192-234216 or 100/112. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
