Port Blair, Jan 20: Students, teachers and parents across India witnessed Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s interaction programme 'Pariksha Pe Charcha-2020' held at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi today.

The Education Department, A&N Administration also organized the live screening of the programme at TGCE auditorium, Middle Point. The Lt. Governor, A&N Islands and Vice Chairman Islands Development Agency, Admiral DK Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Shri Chetan B. Sanghi, Secretary (Education & Sports), Ms. Kriti Garg, senior officers of the Administration and large number of students witnessed the programme.

Over two thousand students and teachers from all over the country participated in the programme. The Prime Minister answered the questions posed by the students on how to beat examination stress. Ms. K Divya, a class Xth student of Model School Port Blair also got an opportunity to present her question before the Prime Minister.

Altogether 8 students drawn from different schools of these Islands along with two escort teachers attended the programme at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. As many as 105 students from different schools of the Islands took part in the online competition, out of which 8 students (as allocated by the MHRD) were shortlisted by the Selection Committee to participate in the programme at New Delhi. 

While describing the programme as an inspiring one, some of the students present at TGCE auditorium, to whom our Reporter spoke said, “it will benefit not only us but also all youngsters, who are going to take their upcoming exams”. Elaborate arrangements were also made by the Education Department for the screening the programme in all schools across the Islands.
