Port Blair, Jan 27: PBMC rolled out source segregation in four wards (i.e. 08, 16, 21, 22) and results are found satisfactory. By taking inputs from the above wards, from Feb 1st 2020 source segregation will be scaled over in all 24 wards.

Cement Concrete and HDPE (Plastic) Dustbins existing along road side in Ward No. 17 and 22 has been completely removed and PBMC has decided to develop the above area with green patches and gardening. PBMC appeals all general public/ hoteliers/ bars/establishments to hand over segregated waste / garbage to the Sanitary Workers. 

Anybody found violating will be fined as per PBMC Solid Waste Handling & Management Bye Laws 2017, a communication from Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Secretary, PBMC said here today.
