Port Blair, Jan 27: Central Crime Station in its continuous crackdown against illegal Narcotics trade in A&N Islands, has arrested two more drug peddlers.

Keeping its commitment of zero tolerance against illegal activities and acting on specific information received on 25/01/2020, two persons namely Subajit Das S/o Late Gaurango Das (25 Yrs) R/o Guptapara and Chinmay Biswas S/o Sh. Manoj Biswas (19 yrs.) R/o Dharendrapur, Purbanoapara, Dist. Nadia West Bengal were arrested from Bhatubasti Private Van parking area by a team comprising of Inspr. D. Jagdishwar Rao, SHO PS Central Crime Station, Inspr. Mohd  Elias, SI Madhab Halder, ASI Vijay Shankar, Head Constable Sanjay Kujur, Constables K. Rajendran and Mohd. Imran, when they came to strike deal for 6.42 Kgs of ganja. The recovered ganja was seized on the spot under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act-1985. The raid was supervised by Sh. Ashok Kumar, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID) under the overall supervision of Sh. Ravi Kumar Singh, IPS, SP(CID).           

The Central Crime Station of CID unit, Andaman & Nicobar Police is taking all possible steps in making these Islands free from anti-social activities and keeping strict vigil over smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substance in these Islands. General Public is requested to pass on credible information on narcotics substance, illegal sale of liquor, gambling or any illegal activity on the telephone numbers: 233307, 232586, 100, & 9474290250. The informer will be suitably rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret.
