ANI Administration Proposes Islanders’ Universal Health Coverage Under AB-PMJAY

Port Blair, Jan 28: The Director of Health Services, Andaman & Nicobar Administration had invited applications from the three categories of beneficiaries of Andaman & Nicobar Scheme for Health Insurance (ANISHI) for enrolment under the expanded version of the scheme, Ayush Director of Health Services Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana vide news item published in The Daily Telegrams on 4th January, 2020.

Now the Andaman & Nicobar Administration has approved a proposal to provide Universal Health Coverage by including all the islanders of the Union Territory under the expanded version of the scheme Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, irrespective of the income of the beneficiaries. This proposal has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India for approval.

Hence, the collection of applications from the three categories of beneficiaries of ANISHI, started on 04.01.2020 is stopped with immediate effect at all health institutions. However, the e-card generation of all Ayushman Bharat–PMJAY beneficiaries shall continue at all Common Service Centres and the following health institutions namely G B Pant Hospital, Port Blair, Room No. 1 of OPD complex, CHC Diglipur, Dr. RP Hospital, Mayabunder, CHC Rangat, CHC Nancowrie and BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar.
