Port Blair, Feb. 13: In order to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, a Health Camp was organized at Rutland by the Directorate of Health Services, A&N Administration in association with UT Health Mission, A&N Islands and Gayatri Pariwar Trust, Gayatri Chetna Kendra, Haddo.

Dr. Omkar Singh, Director of Health Services, Dr. S P Saha, Consultant, Orthopedic, Dr. H.C. Bandhu, HoD, Gynecology, Dr. Amitabh De, Dy. Director (HE&HIC), Dr. P Shivanand Prakash Rao, Pediatrician, PHC Garacharma and Para Medical Staffs from Directorate of Health Services rendered their services in the Camp. 

The Health Camp was formally inaugurated by lighting of lamp by the dignitaries in presence of villagers of Kichad Nalah, Rutland. During the health camp, Dr. Omkar Singh, Director of Health Services sensitized villagers through Interpersonal Communication on heart disease, diabetes, anaemia and nutrition. 

A total of 62 patients were examined and provided appropriate treatment and medicines. The estimation of Hemoglobin and blood sugar was done for needy patients in the camp.
