Port Blair, Feb 13: The Additional Director General and National Mission Head (Mission-IV), Geological Survey of India, CHQ, Kolkata, Dr. S. Raju, currently on visit to the Islands today (13.02.2020) met the Chief Secretary, Shri Chetan B. Sanghi and apprised him of the ongoing and future projects in the field of Earthquake Geology pertaining to A&N Islands. 

The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has been developing a National Seismo-Geodetic Network in which it was envisaged that four stations will be installed in A&N Islands. One of the permanent Seismo-Geodetic Station has been successfully stationed at Hutbay, Little Andaman. The remaining three permanent stations shall soon be installed and the ADG, GSI and his team is on visit to the Islands to finalize the site and for initiation of installation work.
