Aircraft of A&N Command Also to Bring More Medical Supplies

Port Blair, March 30: In view of the spread of COVID-19 in the country and as part of several measures to contain the spread of the disease in the Islands, the A&N Administration has chartered an Air India cargo flight to transport some essential medical supplies to the Islands.

The Air India Special Cargo chartered flight will arrive here from Chennai tomorrow (March 31) with 0.5 tonne of Mask, 70 kgs of PPE (kit), 20 packets of Hollow Fiber Dialyzer, 3 tonnes of Sanitizers, 2.5 tonnes of Sodium Hypochlorite and 1 tonne of Bleaching powder. 

Apart from this, one C-17 aircraft of A&N Command will be bringing some more essential items from Delhi. These include 3 lakh 3-ply masks, 90,000 gloves, 15,000 sanitizers besides 5,000 N-95 masks, the Secretary Disaster Management, A&N Administration informed here today.
