Port Blair, April 29: A delegation of Andaman & Nicobar Forest and Plantation Development Corporation Limited led by the PCC President, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma today called on the Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh and expressed their gratitude towards him for taking up the Forest Corporation issues with the Govt. of India and release of fund for payment of their salaries. They also requested the Lt Governor for revival of the Corporation and settlement of the workers.

The Lt Governor assured them that all possible effort will be made for the welfare of the employees of the Corporation and for finding a way for the revival of the Corporation. He also called upon them for adopting participatory approach which will help in the revival of the Corporation.

Meanwhile a delegation of Andaman & Nicobar Teachers' Association (ANTA) led by the PCC President, Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma also called on the Lt Governor at Raj Niwas and raised various issues concerning the teaching community. They expressed gratitude towards the Lt Governor for not implementing the enhanced working hours for teachers during last year and further requested him for not implementing the same during this academic year. A host of other issues such as regularization of adhoc appointments, filling up of vacant posts in the education department etc. were also taken up. 

The Lt Governor assured them that all the issues will be looked into in a positive manner and efforts will be made so that students, teachers and parents community are benefited equally.
