Port Blair, August 12:  The Hon’ble Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) A K Singh met Shri A.K. Antony, Hon’ble Minister for Defence, Govt. of India on 10th August 2013, at Delhi and appraised him about the security concerns and other related issues of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The Hon’ble Lt Governor also met Shri Ajit Singh, Hon’ble Minister for Civil Aviation, Govt. of India on 12th August 2013, at Delhi to discuss various issues for improvement of air connectivity, for commencing International flights, rationalization of airfares specially during the season, air connectivity to other places like Andhra Pradesh and other parts of India, modernization of Port Blair Airport and night landing facility at Port Blair.

The Hon’ble Minister for Civil Aviation assured the Lt Governor that his Ministry would address and resolve all the longstanding issues on priority basis.
