Upon the Call Made By the Member of Parliament, Islanders Unite For Domicile Rights

 

Port Blair, Dec. 8: An appeal was made by the Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray to all political parties, associations, organisations, NGOs and individuals from the A&N Islands to join together to discuss on Promulgation of A&N Islands Public Employment Regulation, Inner-line Permit and for Constitution of State Service Selection Board. The meeting was held today at 10.00 am the Mini Hall of Andaman Tamizhar Sangam, Port Blair wherein hundreds of people participated.

Suggestions and views were invited in which political leaders, heads of associations and individuals expressed themselves. It was also suggested to Appeal to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India to stop allowing mainlanders from competing for Govt. Jobs in the islands till such time when the burning unemployment issue is tackled.

 

The Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray said that the suggestions would be placed in the Lok Sabha in the ‘0’ Hour to invite the attention of the Govt. of India on the issue which looms large over the islanders. Meanwhile the unemployed teachers of A&N Islands have also called upon the islanders to stop the Administration from coming out with the list of eligible candidates for the post of teachers in A&N Administration.
