Car Nicobar, July 24: The Lt. Governor, Lt. Gen. (Retd), A.K. Singh today said that the Government of India and the UT Administration is committed to the welfare and wellbeing of the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups. On the recent announcement of expansion of the Andaman Trunk Road and construction of Bridges, the Lt. Governor said, “I ensure that it is not going to be at the cost of the wellbeing of the tribals”.

“I wish to reiterate our commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of all the tribal people of Andaman & Nicobar Islands”, the Lt. Gen (Retd) A.K. Singh said. 

“We should also ensure that the ATR comes up to the required standards so that the rest of the people of N&M Andaman can also benefit. This is a commitment of the Government and the UT Administration. We are responsible and accountable”, he added. The Lt. Governor was addressing the gathering at the inauguration of maiden flight services connecting New Delhi to Car Nicobar today.
