Port Blair, April 1: One day Orientation programme to NSS volunteers organized by the NSS Unit III & IV of JNRM to its volunteers. Dr Iqbal Ahmad, Principal, JNRM inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp. During his inaugural address Dr Iqbal Ahmad said the role of NSS volunteers is very important for the development of nation through developing societies. Being a NSS Volunteer one should take pride that they are part and parcel of the country development. 

Shri. Kandimuthu, Programme Officer, NSS delivered a lecture on the role of students in societal development, and emphasized on the students involvement for rural areas development.  Shri K Venkatesan, HOD, Homescience and Programme Officer, NSS explained the significance of the NSS theme, emblem and its history and further he highlighted the activities in which a students can actively render their service like awareness programme, community based approach in adopted villages etc. Dr N Lakshmi, Assistant Professor & NSS Programme Officer also handled class on the leadership and personality development among the volunteers through NSS. She advised the students to use the platform of NSS for self as well as society development. The programme concluded with the interaction followed by question and that were answered by Shri.K.Venkaetsan,  and Dr N Lakshmi Programme Officers of NSS.
