Port Blair, April 17: The Chairperson, Port Blair Municipal Council today stated that the Council will be adopting a fully transparent and impartial process of recruitment and selection for the post of Junior Engineer in the Council.

In a communication the Chairperson said, “The Council will select candidates on the basis of a written examination by an agency of A&N Administration, that is independent of the Council. The question papers and evaluation will be done by the agency without any interference. On receipt of the final merit list of successful candidates, eligible candidates will be appointed solely on merit. Moreover, provision of interviews has also been done away with to ensure fair play”. 

The Chairperson has appealed to the general public not to fall prey to such false propaganda. The candidates who are preparing for the written examination for the post of Junior Engineer have been advised to prepare themselves to achieve high merit and come out with flying colours in the written examination.
