Port Blair, Sept. 3: As part of Hindi Fortnight observance-2015, a Hindi Workshop was organised for Nodal Officers (OL) and Dealing Assistants (OL) in the Conference Hall of Secretariat today. The Secretary (OL), Shri Rakesh Bhatnagar inaugurated the workshop of Chief Guest.        

Addressing the gathering, the Secretary stated that Hindi is Official Language of A & N Islands and since the Islands comes under ‘A’ region, cent percent works should be done in Hindi. He expressed happiness over the establishment of Hindi Unit in all departments under A & N Admn., and hoped that this will help in dissemination of more works in Hindi.

The Secretary (OL) further called upon all the departments to implement the ten- points putforth by the Lt. Governor, A& N Islands for effective implementation of Official Language in letter and spirit to achieve the target set by Government of India. He also mentioned that the workshop will benefit the officials to do work in Hindi comfortably.

The Hindi Translator, Directorate of Health Services, Shri Mohan Das imparted the knowledge of doing official works in Hindi. The Hindi Translator, Directorate of IP&T, Shri A. Jai Nair was the moderator of the programme. 

Meanwhile, as part of the Hindi Fortnight celebration , a noting and drafting competition for Gazetted Officers of the Admn. will be organized on Sept.4 at 10 am in the conference hall of Secretariat.
