Port Blair, Sept. 16: As part of the Hindi Fortnight Celebrations 2012, Indira Gandhi National Open University, Regional Centre Port Blair had organized various competitions for its officials in its office at JNRM Campus, Port Blair. The winners were awarded trophies by the Chief Guest Dr. J. S. Manhas, Head of Hindi Department, JNRM.

Addressing on the occasion Dr. Manhas highlighted the importance of Hindi language and why the Hindi fortnight is befittingly celebrated every year. He also encouraged the staff to speak and use Hindi language more often in official correspondence and communications. Dr. R. G. S. Baghel, Associate Professor of Geography Department, JNRM was the special guest for the evening. Earlier Smti. Swaraja Laxmi welcomed the gathering and Shri. Sanjiv Kumar Hira proposed the vote of thanks.
